The pharmacy quoted a much higher price than I expected. What can I do?

Start by asking the pharmacy what price basis it used for the quote. Pharmacies set medication prices, not GenMeds, and the same medication can be priced differently depending on the dose and the pharmacy. GenMeds doesn’t quote medication prices, so a price you’ve seen elsewhere may not be what your pharmacy charges.

What you can do

  1. Ask the pharmacy to explain the price. If you have a savings card or coupon, ask the pharmacy whether it applies. For Wegovy at a local pharmacy, the cash-pay price needs the Wegovy Savings Card; enroll before you pick up.

  2. If the price still doesn’t work for you, you can have your prescription filled somewhere else: call or text Photon, our pharmacy coordinating partner, at (513) 866-3212, and they’ll move it for you. Photon can’t change the price a pharmacy charges, and neither can the Support team.

  3. If the cost means you’re considering changing or stopping your treatment, message your clinician through the chat on your Dashboard before you change anything. Reply to the most recent message about your prescription.

Note: The GenMeds Membership fee is separate from medication costs and doesn’t include medication.

For anything else about your order, such as payment or pickup, contact the pharmacy directly. If you’re not sure who to ask, message the Support team from your Dashboard.
