Ask your clinician, either at your refill check-in or sooner through the chat on your Dashboard. The clinician reviews your request and decides whether a switch is appropriate.
At your refill check-in
When you complete your refill check-in from your Dashboard, you can say you’d like to switch medication. The clinician reviews your request along with how treatment has been going, typically within 1–2 business days.
Before your refill check-in is due
Message your clinician through the chat on your Dashboard: reply to the most recent message about your prescription and let them know you’d like to switch medication.
If the clinician prescribes a different medication
GenMeds emails you and sends an in-app message with your next step. Each medication is filled by its own pharmacy (NovoCare Pharmacy for Wegovy, LillyDirect for Zepbound and Foundayo, Amazon Pharmacy for Repatha), so a new medication may mean a new pharmacy, which contacts you within about 2 business days to set up your account and payment.
Note: Medication is paid to the pharmacy and isn’t included in the GenMeds Membership fee. The price varies by medication, dose and pharmacy, so a different medication may cost a different amount.
Questions about which medication is right for you go to your clinician. For anything about the process, message the Support team from your Dashboard.
