What happens after I submit my refill check-in?

Once you submit your refill check-in, the clinician reviews it, typically within 1–2 business days.

What the clinician decides

The clinician decides whether to continue your treatment as it is or make a change, based on what you shared: how treatment is going, side effects, missed doses and what you’d like to happen next. For weight loss treatment, that can include a dose change. For cholesterol management treatment, the clinician may also review your LDL cholesterol results.

If a new prescription is written

GenMeds emails you and sends an in-app message with your next step. Your prescription goes straight to the pharmacy that fills your medication (NovoCare Pharmacy for Wegovy, LillyDirect for Zepbound and Foundayo, Amazon Pharmacy for Repatha). If you’re already set up with that pharmacy, your refill runs through it; otherwise the pharmacy contacts you within about 2 business days to set up your account and payment. From there, the pharmacy handles payment for the medication, shipping, tracking and pickup updates.

Note: If your medication changes, your pharmacy may change too, because each medication is filled by its own pharmacy.

Who to contact

  • Questions about the clinician’s decision or your dose: message your clinician through the chat on your Dashboard by replying to the most recent message about your prescription.

  • Questions about an order once it’s with the pharmacy: contact the pharmacy.

  • Anything else about the process: message the Support team from your Dashboard.
