What to do depends on which medication you take and how long the delay has been. Always follow the instructions that came with your medication.
If you missed a dose of Zepbound
If you miss a dose of Zepbound, take the missed dose as soon as possible within 4 days (96 hours) after the missed dose.
If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take your next dose on the regularly scheduled day.
Either way, you then go back to your regular once-weekly schedule.
Don’t take 2 doses of Zepbound within 3 days (72 hours) of each other.
You can change the day of the week you use Zepbound, as long as the time between the 2 doses is at least 3 days (72 hours).
If you’re not sure when to restart Zepbound, message your clinician.
If you missed an injection dose of Wegovy
If you miss a dose of Wegovy and your next scheduled dose is more than 2 days (48 hours) away, take the missed dose as soon as possible.
If your next scheduled dose is less than 2 days (48 hours) away, don’t take the missed dose. Take your next dose on the regularly scheduled day.
You can change the day of the week you inject, as long as your last dose of Wegovy was given 2 or more days before.
If you’ve missed 2 or more weeks of doses in a row, see below.
If you’re not sure when to restart Wegovy, message your clinician.
If you missed a dose of the Wegovy pill
If you miss a dose of Wegovy tablets, skip the missed dose. Go back to your regular schedule and take your next dose the following day.
Don’t take more than 1 tablet each day.
If you’re not sure when to restart Wegovy, message your clinician.
If you’ve missed 2 or more weeks of Wegovy injections
If you miss doses of Wegovy for 2 or more consecutive weeks, message your clinician through the chat on your Dashboard to talk about how to restart your treatment. Reply to the most recent message about your prescription.
Your clinician will tell you how to restart. The Prescribing Information tells clinicians to restart the dose increase at a lower dose, to reduce the risk of stomach side effects.
Who to contact
If you have missed more than 1 dose, message your clinician through the chat on your Dashboard. Reply to the most recent message about your prescription. The same goes for anything about restarting, your dose, or how you feel on your medication.
If your medication was lost or damaged, contact your pharmacy about a replacement. If the replacement needs a new prescription, message your clinician.
If you take too much Wegovy or Zepbound, call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away.
In an emergency, call 911. If you’re having thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988.
